MEET OUR CHRISTIAN EDUCATION DIRECTOR

TAMMY BOTTS

A member of the Second Presbyterian Church for over 22 years with my husband Gary and son Trevor we feel so blessed for our church family at Second Presbyterian Church.  I have served on the Board of Deacons, Session, and have been serving as the part time Christian Education Director for the last 7 years. 

As Christian Education Director I am able to have contact with many wonderful people willing to dedicate their time and talents to build God’s kingdom.

The responsibilities that fall under my care are Children's Ministry, Sunday School, Bible Studies, Adult and Children's Library, Nursery, Junior Church, and Vacation Bible School.

We have approximately 100 people attend Sunday School classes that begin at 9:45 am Sunday from September - May.  We have approximately 5 adult classes, 1 senior high, 1 junior high, 1 elementary, and 1 preschool/kindergarten. We are dedicated to the safety of our children.  American Red Cross babysitting courses are provided to our student volunteers and background checks are required for all in house adult church volunteers.

Throughout the years we have Children Ministry Activities which have included Elementary Parties, Dinner and a Movie, Christmas Caroling, Bring your Parents to Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School just to name a few.

I can not tell you how thrilled I am to participate in the lives of our children.  I believe if we raise children to put their faith in God they will grow to be more Christ like.  We are all disciples of God regardless of age.
